I am back at Bucks Rock camp in CT for the summer teaching ceramics. So far everything is going well. Got back into throwing pottery, took a few days to get used to working with clay. Had a productive day and made a few cups/mugs. Worked on a new technique on one of my cups: I threw the cup on the wheel and then carved in the design, once the design was carved i filled in the indented area with wet clay that was colored (slip) and then scraped the surface flat so that the red design aligned with the walls of the cup! I plan on glazing it with a clear glaze that allows the red detailing to show through.
