Its been a while!

Wow. Its been a while - haven't really put up new work since I went on spring break.

In this drawing we had to create our own creature by morphing three creatures together. I chose to morph a lizard, a human and a frog...this was the result

The scale details on the lizard are actually applied with a technique called xerox transfers. Its hard to see in this photo but there is also bones and other patterns integrated into the drawing through this technique.

Right now I am currently working on this large 6 foot drawing where we have to draw a figure in 4 stages - (1) skeleton + bones (2) muscles and organs (3) veins and (4) skin, hair and other things

I have completed ( for the most part) the skeleton section of the drawing...I will be moving on to the muscles and organs this week!

It is really interesting drawing the inner structures of the human body - it has really helps inform my other drawings I have been working on. It gave me a better understanding of human proportions (which i am still pretty bad at!) and a really good understanding of how the skin lays on top of all the different layers of the body!

Last week we worked with a live model and I was really happy with the way the figure drawings turned out! I will post them up soon once i take pictures of them.
