Attempting to paint.

Here are some of my first pieces in painting... they certainly aren't perfect. Right now we are working on getting an understanding on different painting techniques. All three of these painting are done on clear vellum on top of a picture. This way we didn't have to focus on getting the proportions right. 

My first painting was from a drawing that wasn't quite in the right proportions to start with:

This next one was done from a photograph using the "glazing technique":

This is my most recent one. Started last night! This one was started on top of a photograph (using the wet technique). Once the first layer of paint was laid down the vellum had to be removed from the photo to see all the detail. This was a lot harder...and probably why I look like Jackie Wilson! haha
